My Story

I've joined The Grand Run - to help support critically ill and sick children being looked after at Bristol Children's Hospital.

I am currently running 100 miles in 10 weeks with Arthur, my 9 month old son. Together with our running buggy we are taking on forests, beaches, moors and roads across East Devon. To finish on a high, the final 13.1 miles will be completed over a weekend at the end of October.

I am personally very grateful to The Grand Appeal, as Arthur spent some time in the NICU when he was born and I was overwhelmed with the support I received from them. We were luckily able to stay in their nearby accommodation, Cots For Tots, which made a huge difference to a very stressful experience.

Throughout lockdown, The Grand Appeal has continued to provide services to support the staff, families and patients navigating the coronavirus pandemic. These crucial services have included the operation of three family accommodation facilities - to keep parents close to their children in hospital, and providing the funding for ground-breaking research into a coronavirus vaccine.

Please support me as I take on The Grand Run for the critically ill and sick children across our region that still need our continued support despite this pandemic.
