My Story

Mark Woodward and Mike Saunders are 2 of the Consultant Surgeons at Bristol Children's Hospital. They were meant to be going to Portugal in November to do the Cascais Ironman and 70.3, but COVID has got in the way. Instead they are going to do their own versions of both races, BristolMan and BristolMan 70.3, in and around Bristol on Wednesday 4th (full) and Friday 6th Nov (70.3).

As part of this, they've signed up to The Grand Run - to help support critically ill and sick children across our region being looked after at Bristol Children's Hospital - and a small number of friends and colleagues (max 6 for full and 2 for 70.3) will join them during the run section for their own Grand Runs.

Throughout lockdown, The Grand Appeal has continued to provide services to support the staff, families and patients navigating the coronavirus pandemic. These crucial services have included the operation of three family accommodation facilities - to keep parents close to their children in hospital, and providing the funding for ground-breaking research into a coronavirus vaccine.

Please support them as they take on BristolMan and BristolMan 70.3 and the Grand Run for the critically ill and sick children across our region that still need our continued support despite this pandemic.
